Update 8/14/13:  My adoption isn't working out so here I am again.  My new name is Alexa and even though I am a really sweet dog, I am back through no fault of my own.  My mom says I am very gentle and do well with dogs large or small, but perhaps a house with no other dog would be best so I can get all the attention.  When I get extremely excited I circle - especially at feeding time.  If I spin too much, just tell me "no no, stop spinning" and I usually stop.  In the past couple of weeks, I even started playing with toys (toy bones).   I am pretty good at walking on leash and will be sure to let you know when its time to be picked up .  The dogtor says I have beginning of cataracts so I amy not see certain things clearly. She sleeps through the night, on her bed, no problem.  I would love a home where someone is home most of the time and can take me out for walks and to go potty.  I know my pawrents are very sad to let me go, but feel it would be in my best interest as they are not home much at all.

Update 4/26/13: So guess what?  I am REALLY starting to come out of my shell now!  I am really getting friendly.  I greet guests at the door and I love to be around my foster family.  I sleep throughout the night in my dog bed in my foster pawrent's bedroom and I don't move all night!  I'm even getting much better with my house-breaking.  I'm really starting to get excited to meet my potential furever family so if you think you're it, please put your application in at www.yorkie911rescue.com!

Update 4/15/13: In a short 2 weeks, my foster Mom says that I have come so far!  I follow her around everywhere and wag my tail excitedly when she gets home.  I love to "kiss" and jump up to get pet now.  My foster Mom nicknamed me Spinderella because she said I was the spinning queen but even my spinning has lessened recently!  We're still working on my house breaking but hey, one step at a time!  I'm really starting to come out of my shell and show my true colors which are super pretty according to the Rescue Squad!  Oh yea and check out my video here on my bio so you can see for yourself how sweet I am, then consider putting in an application for me at www.yorkie911rescue.com!

Update 4/2/13:  Guess what?  I found my voice today!!  This afternoon I was starting to feel more comfortable and I don't know what came over me but a sound came out of my mouth, not once, but twice!  My foster Mom said it was a bark!  Woof Woof!  She is a little worried about me because my buddy Halle is getting adopted this weekend & I like to stay near her.  Halle is my best friend and I have bonded with her, but I trust that I will find a furever family soon with a new best friend, just for me! I'm still working on house breaking and we are hopeful, although it is going to take more time.  I came from a puppy mill where we would go potty wherever then step in it and circle around and around. Where I came from, no one told me it was not okay to do that.  This is just one of many reasons why puppy mills are bad.  Puppy mills do not care about the Mom & Dad dogs who make the cute puppies you see in the Pet shops.  Please consider putting in an adoption application for me.  I can no longer make puppies (thank goodness) but I CAN love you loyally furever!

Woof Woof!  My name is Heidi and I am a Yorkie girl looking for a family to sweep me off my paws and take me home furever!  My foster Mom says that I am such a sweet girl but I am very damaged from my previous puppymill life.  I walk in circles about 60% of the time that I am awake.  When I get really excited, like when my foster family comes home, I walk my circles even faster!  I have some toenails missing on my left back paw and I sometimes keep it off the ground when I circle.  I guess you can say that it gives me some personality!  I will come over to my foster family but I just want to keep licking their hand.  When other pups are nearby, I will let my foster family pet me.  With some trust and consistency, this will change.  I'm still not too fond of being held but I would never think of growling at you and I do not bark.  I do love to be hand fed though!  When my foster Mommy puts soft food on a spoon, I will eat off of it rather than from the dish.  The good news (and what my foster Mommy keeps telling me) is that she has had other puppymill survivors before and has watched them bloom!  She is hopeful that in time I will become adjusted to my new life as my other surviving furry friends have.  We are working on my housebreaking and know each day will bring improvements, no matter how small!  Please visit www.yorkie911rescue.com to put in an adoption application for me.
