Update 8/31/14: from Dawg's foster mom: No drooling at all anymore! It is a beautiful thing. No drool. No spit bubbles. No wet sloppy whiskers. His mouth is only wet / damp when his tongue goes crazy. For the most part he has learned to control his tongue. Just the little bit sticks out. When he gets excited the tongue runs a bit amok and then his whiskers will be damp. But, I do not have to wipe them. Not drippy and they just dry. Update 8/22/14: Drooling has decreased. Not sure if it is because of the haircut around his mouth or the dental from the vet or a combination of both. :) Update from Dawg's foster mom 8/21/14; Dawg is very respectful of my bigger dogs (Collie and Golden retriever). Gives them their space but will happily be included when invited. Never chases them around making a nuisance of himself. He allows them to explore him and is very patient with their sniffing of him.
He LOVES to go for a walk and gets very excited at the sight of his leash. I crate him at night and also for periods of time during the day. He does not complain and will go belly up for a rubwhenever I pass by. Dawg has no bad habits. So sweet, mellow and happy. He is a very good boy. He will make somebody a wonderful companion.
Unfortunately, his mouth/beard is always wet and sloppy. I hope somebody can get past that :)
