Update:   12/1/11:  My foster mom took me to see an eye specialist for the  cataract in my right eye- a very generous donor made that possible (Thank you Mary Ng!)   The Dogter told the Rescue Squad that the tests were inconclusive as to whether I have sight in that eye so they would need to do additional tests before surgery, if I am a candidate.  I can see perfectly fine with my other eye so the Dogter thinks we should wait.  In the meatime, I am slowly blossoming into a very sweet pup.  I am still shy but learning to trust a little more everyday.

Update 10/30/11:  I have been to the Dogtor - turns out I don't have a prolapsed rectum - it was just inflamed from the tapeworm which is all gone now!  I do have to see a specialist about my eye (juvenile cataract) and may even have a generous benefactor who will make that happen soon.  I have trust issues with humans and although every day I am showing signs of being less fearful, I know I still have a long way to go.  I need a home that is on the quiet side with no children as they scare me.  So do loud noises and sudden movements.  They scare me so much that I sometimes have accidents because of it.  When I am not scared though, I am a good girl and do my business on a wee wee pad.  I get really excited when it's time to eat- I also like to wag my tail when I am being offered a treat.  Sometimes I even go up to my foster Mom's hand and take it.  Other times I still get nervous and try to approach but cower away.  Sometimes I like to roll over for belly rubs but only when I trust my foster Mom- and she can't move fast when she pets me otherwise I freak out.  You see, I was not handled much in the puppy mill I came from and so everything is brand new to me.  I need a new home that can grow with me and show me the ropes of being a dog.  With a little trust, much love and lots of patience, I will blossom into a sweet loveable girl.  Are you the right furever family for me?

Hi... my name is Dixie and I am a bit on the shy side.  I came to the nice folks at Yorkie911 from a puppy mill in the midwest.  They vetted me, cleaned me up real nice and groomed me.  They found out I have tapeworm which I have been treated for but it appears I may have a prolapsed rectum as well.  I also have what appears to be a cataracts in my left eye.  We won't know for sure what is going on with me until I visit the dogtor.  I also need to be spayed and will get a physical before I can start looking for my furever family.  That doesn't mean you have to wait though!  If you think I may be the perfect match for your family then put in an adoption application at: www.yorkie911rescue.com.  My adoption fee is $400.
