A huge thank you to my friends and family, Delaware County SPCA, Chester County SPCA, Main Line Animal Rescue, FIND TOBY in PA, Justice Rescue, Bring Rudy Home, LostMyDoggie.com, and my own rescue friends at Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc for sharing and individually looking for sweet little Kendra (nicknamed: Bubba). Kendra was found on the off ramp of 476 this morning by a cop. She has passed. Kendra was our 9th foster dog this year. She was given to us to foster back in August. Kendra had survived 5-6 years in a puppy mill working as a money making machine- she was used to solely produce puppies to sell in pet stores and online puppy purchasing websites. Kendra's emotional pain was obvious. She was so scared that human eye contact made her shake. This, as you can imagine, only made my heart grow bigger for puppy mill survivors. In the 5 months that I fostered her she gave ME so much love that I didn't think was possible back in August. I believe Kendra's need to run even when she was being called after by people that loved her and knew originates from her years in a puppy mill. Learning about puppy mills changed me. I wasn't a "dog person" 14 months ago. Please do your research when choosing to buy a puppy. Perhaps you will have the best experience rescuing a dog that will give you more love then you could have imagined possible. My aunt adopted Kendra just 4 days ago. Please pray for peace, this is very painful. Thank you again for all your help and encouragement. Stephanie P.
Old Man Lou was such a happy guy. He was content to wander the yard and get some snuggles. We will all miss you Lou! RIP
Colby went in for a routine dental cleaning - there was no reason to think he wouldn't be wagging his tail when I went to pick him up but instead he was in distress. After a chest xray showed his lungs were in bad shape, we also found a bladder stone almost 2" in length stuck in his pelvis. The staff at the vet's office did everything they could - Dr. W even took him home to care for him overnight but when the phone rang and I saw the caller ID, I knew he had passed. RIP Colby - you will be terribly missed.
Shorty came into rescue after his family passed on. He was left in a Vet's office boarded for weeks before finally being released to retire his days with the Yorkie911 Rescue Squad. He lived a wonderful life in retirement and even met celebrity Shorty, from Pit Boss! He had a second chance at life thanks to rescue but sadly left us on 08/12/2013. RIP Shorty!
Ten months ago, Magee came into rescue looking like a victim of neglect. That soon changed when she met the loving arms of her foster family! She was a tiny girl with a lot of personality and was super easy to fall in love with. Magee sadly left us on 5/21/13. RIP |
