Monte, you will be missed!
Monte was another pup dumped at the shelter. I am a bleeding heart so he was pulled and brought into rescue. Sadly, he was with us for just a short time. RIP Sweet Monte

Keeley - the sweetest senior!
From Marlyn: Her owners story was that they could no longer take care of her and I listened to that tale of woe via phone for hours the week before we picked her up. I called you after we left there to say that was not true. the woman had a one handed cane in the corner but her husband had just come back from playing tennis and her son, Keeleys original owner, was in his early 30s and also completely healthy and they let him bring two young dogs into their home, A fact along with that she was blind that they failed to mention in all the conversations I had with them. You have no idea how many times I watched Keeley try adjust as a 15 year old blind dog and how I thought about how they had her sleeping on a dirty pillowcase, not even a pillow and gave me a sock with a hole in it they said she loved to,play catch with- for God's sake she could not even see so who knows the last time they even paid any attention to her. Living with a solid eight foot high fence with only two steps and they couldn't be bothered to let her out for a year and a half. Couldn't get her out of that house fast enough after 15 years and abandoned her. That is why I told her so many times over the last few weeks, "you remember you are a Watson, Keeley , and you have a family that will never leave you" Marlyn

Niles
Niles was the biggest little dog there ever was. We rescued Niles twice and it stuck the second time. He was in charge of the bigger dogs, not allowing them access to people, couches or beds. At 3 pounds, he was the first line of defense when people came to our home. His favorite way to lie down or be held was backwards. We will miss him.

Chewy
We are saddened by the passing of Chewy. He was a wonderful fur-sibling and tolerated the foster dogs that came from time to time. Our hearts and prayers go out to our rescue family Stephanie & Stephen. From Chewy's Pawrents - During the past thirteen and a half years, Chewy was one of our best doggie friends ever. As a not-full-size dachshund, his beautiful dapple coloring contained all the colors in the doxie breed. His eyes were enchanting; when he looked at you, he could see into your soul, and you could see into his. He could smell a treat or a chipmunk or his mouse toy from a mile away. He was a great brother and an excellent host when other dogs came to visit. He loved us the way dogs love: no matter what. Yesterday before he passed on, he looked at us each separately with his dark, soulful eyes and said “Goodbye, Thank you for everything. I love you.”

Casey
To all our dear friends and family: Our hearts have been broken again…Today we had to send our gentile, sweet little Casey to the heavens…The past year and a half has been very difficult for little Casey ...having his teeth cared for…his warts removed…several acupuncture sessions as well as laser therapy for his hind legs…plus daily doses of an IV fluid for his kidney failure and various medications...he was a real trooper...his little body had had enough and was telling us no more...he refused food and had trouble eating his favorite treats…and for whatever age he was at about 10:30 this morning our little baby boy was sent to the angels...this was what we knew was going to happen since he was so sick...but our time with him was so short…(we adopted Casey 3 years ago when it was estimated that he was between 10 and 12 years old…he really adopted us and became a family member the minute he entered our house…being so playful and having fun in the backyard running and jumping off the patio…cuddling and sleeping with us)…our time with him was so special...he was such a good boy that the pain of losing him is greater than what we could ever imagine...We miss him so, so much!...our sweet little angel baby we will always remember the joy you gave us...rest peacefully! Lizz, Jaime and Mia
